At first, I wanted to write you a letter but then I remembered that I don’t have an address to send it to you. I always believed when writing out a letter, it is more heartfelt to print it out. It was great seeing you Pops, under those conditions. I’m glad I got to say “hi” and give you a hug and a slight squeeze in the hands. It made me realized how much I missed you.
I don’t really have a reason writing you this; I just wanted to show you my support and love. All your students are rooting and praying for you. You have no idea how much you have touched us. And for that, we can never thank you enough. However, I have always felt the luckiest because I’m your “daughter”! That is a privilege. Who knew, after all those years we’re still friends. I’m sorry I didn’t keep in contact until recently but it’s better now than never right? You have no idea what of a role model you are to me. Without you and St. Polycarp, I’d be lost. I’m not sure why I wanted to write you this, all I know is I wanted to tell you how I admire and respect you. Now, not to get all cheesy, I really do want to thank you. And don’t say “nonsense!” I was actually inspired by the John Mayer song “say what you need to say”. James, you’re always teaching us youngins’. Whether its about faith, love, or life, you always somehow manage to inspire us and teach us. Even now, you’re teaching us about the beautiful essence of life, family and God. You are brave; you are a solider and a fighter. You are incredibly strong and I hope you know that.
I’m really glad I came to St. Polycarp; I was originally from St. Columbian and didn’t want to leave. I’m really glad I was placed in your class. I am especially glad I was placed in your retreat family. (Sweet 16 DIS 05’!) :]] you are a good man, incredible and loving. So James, keep on fighting, loving, and living. I just wanted to say thanks. No need to reply. I really hope to see you again and maybe we’ll get a chance to have a conversation. Keep on smiling youuu wonderful father! I love youuu! hehe
Your daughter
